Produced under Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S Sashikanth, the film is part of an expanding horror universe that also includes ‘Bhoothakaalam’ and ‘Bramayugam’.

With Christo Xavier composing the music, Shehnad Jalal handling cinematography, Shafique Mohammed Ali editing, ‘Dies Irae’ showcases a striking visual style.
The project was first announced in March 2025 under the working title NSS2 marking Night Shift Studios’ second major venture. By May 2025, the official title ‘Dies Irae’ was revealed.
The film was shot over a brief but intense schedule between March and April 2025.
